"Fascinating," muttered Tri-blade from their unique vantage point. Along with Macaia's Daughter, he had stumbled onto an unlikely battle - Starmaster and Krystal in what appeared to be a friendly duel.
Rosa blinked rapidly as Starmaster teleported around the ring. "He's quick."
Tri-blade nodded. "That he is, but notice how Krystal's anticipated where he emerges from. It's a subtle art and not everybody's capable of determining where an opponent's going to show up. Some can detect tachyons, others can see seconds into the future. When Phantom battles me using his teleportation abilities, time itself changes pace. He'll blink and for a split second, unless I'm really sharp, my movement slows down. So, depending on the opponent, use of teleportation abilities can be a help or a hindrance."
He continued, "Does Krystal know they're being watched?"
Rosa focused her thoughts briefly. "I think so, Tri. She isn't letting up her fighting but I can sense her scrying the area as if she knows there are onlookers. If she knows, it's not bothering her, she may know it's friendly."
Smiling, Tri-blade said, "She wouldn't be wrong."
"But godpa, why are we watching this anyway? League War prep and battles aren't really our forte," she then sadly sighed, "...definitely not our forte at all."
"Indeed, but a couple things to consider. It's sanctioned by BADGE, there's little personal risk, and from battling and observing competitors, it'll help us all when it comes to dealing with enemies. Certainly being battle-tested helped with strategies for taking out Krampus, evil Cupid and that Jinn fellow.
As the combatants concluded their sparring session, Tri-blade and Rosa began their exit. "Don't let your time for despair outweigh the time spent learning, growing and steeling your resolve.
"As long as we're needed in this realm, our resolve will certainly be tested. Don't lose sight of that," said Tri-blade as he playfully punched his god-daughter in the shoulder.
