Powers Contest: Astral Thanks

    Keri sat in her apartment in Denver.  She looked at her old letterman's jacket with her old name of Kevin on it.  Many people thought it was from her old boyfriend who died not realizing it actually is hers.  She was attempting to make a dinner for her and her adoptive parent.  Her real mom had made this look so easy.  She was thankful that her real parents were not dead, but saddened that they did not recognize her as their son.
    She was very thankful that she was adopted by the retired hero Futurina who is a powerful psionic elf exiled to Earth.  She helped her legally become Keri Mitchell.  Keri didn't know how long the elf woman had been alive, but that she fought alongside many different super heroes over the centuries.  She helped her learn how to use her powers and become a hero in her own right.  She wondered who her adoptive parent wanted to bring with her to dinner.  She said it was a surprise.  Keri couldn't read her thoughts if she didn't want them read.  Futurina is too skilled for that.
    She looked at the picture of the recent adventure in Bennet.  She was grateful that she had met Arcane Ace, Infinite Tempest, Highlander, Helmut (may he rest in peace), and Fiona.  It was something amazing and quite the adventure.  They are all great heroes and all have their reasons for  coming on the adventure.  We decided to take a break before going to the next scene.  Infinite Tempest suggested we head to Keenesburg and investigate the "ghost" sighting.  We might find out what happened to Doug.
    She was thankful that Doug's parents never gave up hope in finding him.  That strange night in Hudson left her they way she is  and no one had seen Doug until that night she saw him or a specter of him in Charlie D's.  She still believe he's alive.  She will find him and bring him home.  She just hopes his parents accept him if he's changed like she was.
    She was thankful for the 5th Precinct Darksabres for having her as a member.  They're great people.  She didn't know if she really belongs there, but she's enjoying her time there.
    She was thankful that Krystal Fae knew what the aliens did to her.  How they were able to switch her from him to her.  That explained a lot to her.  She was now living as a young woman.  Happy and accepting of her fate.  Heroes through and through.
