Re: The Gathering Storm

Astra
Director Nova sat in a well maintained Mahogany chair at the matching table.  The elven woman wore a blue dress rather than the leather armor he was accustomed to seeing her in.  She set a small tea kettle on a hot pad at the center of the table.  She then placed a jar of honey, and handed a tea cup and saucer to the director.  She then placed one in front of herself.

"I'm sure you know why I'm here, Futurina," Nova stated.

"Would you care for some tea?" she asked.  "Yes, I do know why you're here, Director, but you'll tell me anyway, because that is how things work."  The tea kettle began to whistle as her eyes glowed.

"I'd prefer bourbon, but I'm on duty.  Tea will do," He refrained.  "I have to come up with proof that the World Corps betrayed and attacked B.A.D.G.E.  I will have the usual people working on it."

"You have Astra working on the Sagan Academy case," Futurina clarified.

"I'm not here for Astra's help," he replied.  "She'll be called in when we need her.  I'm here for you."

"I'm retired," Futurina stated.  "Last I checked psychic impressions were not allowed as evidence in court."

"Your power is also not morphon based," Nova noted.  "I need help only you can provide.  Point us in the right direction and keep us from chasing red herrings.  We'll take care of the hard stuff."

"You wound me," Futurina said, "I like being part of the action.  I understand what you are asking, but if you need more, I am willing to help."  She poured the tea into his cup and offered cream and honey.  She never used processed sugar.

"Thank you," He said as he took the cup and fixed the tea the way he wanted.  She poured some for herself and poured some honey in and stirred it.  "You are retired and they have no information on you.  We go back years.  I would appreciate the help you can give."

"You make it sound as if all the good deeds I've done have been forgotten," She said.  "I know there have been people going missing from the fight clubs.  Keri's told me about that.  What else do you need?"

"Information from the minds of the soldiers we still have on the base," He stated.  "Can you do that?" She nodded in agreement.

Re: The Gathering Storm

Astra
After Astra went to bed Futurina began her work for Director Nova.  She rolled her neck and took a meditative seat.  She focused on EB.  She knew him from long ago, and though EB didn't annoy her (he found her intimidating) she counted him as a friend.  Her ice blue eyes began to glow and she began to levitate.  A notebook and pen began to float in front of her.  The pen went to her left hand and she placed it to the paper.

She went into a trance and allowed the images and words to flow.  It felt like hours had passed, perhaps even days.  She spoke to the prisoners on the BADGE station in her native elvish, but they understood in their native language.  She information she received she wrote or drew.  She saw where EB was held.  She wrote down the coordinates.  She gleaned evidence of what World Corps were doing, though it was not the whole picture.  It was what each prisoner was told.  What their individual orders were.  When she stopped the pen and notebook drifted down in front of her.

She lowered herself back to the pillows and her eyes stopped glowing.  She picked up the notebook and scanned each page into the computer and sent them directly to Director Nova.  It was after that she looked at the pages of the notebook and saw more victims of the World Corps.  Ones not even reported yet.  They were sketched in intricate detail.  What scared her the most was a picture of EB.  The look of terror on his bunny face.

She looked at the time, 3:15 AM.  She decided to record a video message to Director Nova.  She sat in front of her computer and hit record on her webcam.  "Director Nova, I have sent you what I could get from the World Corps troops you had as prisoners.  I do not know if your communications are being bugged.  I am concerned for EB.  The image I drew...the terror on his face...we have to help him."

Re: The Gathering Storm

Astra
As Futurina sent the video message, she thought of a way she could communicate other information to Director Nova.  Sensitive information, such as where people were going to be abducted.  She wrote in down in elvish and sent it to him via scanned paper to PDF.  This would help save people and keep the enemy from knowing.  She just hoped Cordell Star would translate in person for  Director Nova.
