The Origin of The Sword of Gerraxia Part 1

The Sword of Gerraxia
Centuries ago, a small group of elves approach the small cabin in the frozen north and knock upon the door.  The silhouetted man that stood there nodded to them.  "I see you brought Gerraxia's armor.  Where is her sword?"
The lead elf raised his head tears still streaming down his face.  They were freezing in the cold.  "It shattered, in the battle.  The monster is defeated but at the cost of Gerraxia's life.  We offer you her armor.  It's only fitting since you made it for her.  Do you want the pieces of her sword?  Maybe you could reforge it?" he asked.
"No," the figure stated.  "I don't make weapons.  They never bring joy.  Keep it with her family.  She made it.  They should have it.  Maybe make it into something beautiful and peaceful.  That's what Gerraxia always wanted."  The figure shook his head as he accepted the armor.  "Maybe, one day I will be able to return this to her family."
"Thank you, Lord Claus.  We shall return the sword to her family with the news," the lead elf said as he turned and opened a magical portal to Gerraxia's home.

The day the Morphons arrived just happened to be the eighteenth birthday of Gerri Star.  Her father had worked all night on reforging her ancestors broken sword into a ring for his daughter.  It was beautiful and a work of love.  The gold came from the guard, the gem, an emerald, from the pommel and the setting was made from the tip of the sword.  He had etched some of the runes on the ring.  He knew how much Gerri loved reading the old book of Elvish Lore.  He hated the fact that his family had to hide the fact they were elves by wearing glamours to appear human.  He had placed the ring in a new box and wrapped it to give to his daughter.
Gerri awoke early in the morning to begin her usual fitness regime.  She had been doing this since she took up kick boxing in middle school.  She heard her father in the garage but knew not to go there.  It was probably something for her birthday today.  She smiled as she finished her workout and freshened up before getting dressed.  She made sure to put her glamour up before she went downstairs to eat.  Just in case someone else came by.   She poured a bowl of granola.  her father walked in and set the small box in front of her.
"Happy Birthday, Gerri," he said and gave her a kiss on her cheek.  "Do you have a guess as to what it is?"  Her little brother ran down the stairs followed by her mother.
"Has she seen it yet?" her brother asked enthusiastically.
"Is it a new car?" Gerri guessed.  Her father chuckled and shook his head in a negative response.  "Is it my own place?" she guessed again.
"Like we would kick you out of our home on your eighteenth birthday," her mother smiled.
"Just open it," her little brother pleaded.
"One more guess, you know the rules," her father stated.
"An engagement ring from James?" was her final guess.
"Yeah, right, he'd be here right now if he were to propose to you," her brother stated.
Gerri flicked him on the nose, "You're right and he's not here.  I guess that means I get to open it now," she said.  She picked up the small wrapped box and carefully unwrapped the box knowing it would drive her brother crazy.  once unwrapped she slowly opened the box to find the ring her father had made for her.  "It's beautiful, Daddy,"she said in awe.  That was when the Morphons interacted with the dormant magic within the ring and she was enveloped in a green energy that looked like fire.  It was then her family realized she had the ability to control the powers of her ancestors.

Hiya SoG!

I, as a Fae creature myself, know the struggle of fitting in with the Human world... I don't need glamours for my day-to-day existence, being Fae (My ancestors included both Elves and Fairys... and I'm Half-human too.)

I can show you the location of the Gate/Portal to Fae-re (also known as Elfhame...) and teach you the opening charm if you and your family would like to visit.

I know that in the far north, many of your kind also work with a certain acquaintance of mine, as well...

The Sword of Gerraxia
Thank you, Krystal Fae.
My father knows of the portal you speak of, though we have never journeyed there.  Our family is here for the protection of those portals.  It's been quiet for a long time.  Glamours are what we were taught to keep our identities safe.  It's second nature to us now.
Are you speaking of Santa?  He is well known among us.  As for the opening charm, I would love to know that.
Thank you!
