Theoretical Notes-

The various forms of energy present in our reality are nearly infinite, but for the purpose of this treatise, we need to consider only three (3).  

The first is Life Energy... all living organisms are both sources and repositories of this energy.  With the current level of B.A.D.G.E. technology, we can detect this force at a distance.

The other two (2) forms are not as easily detected... in fact it was only with the current upgrades in technology that this recently became possible.

Mana is the second form of energy which we will consider.  Mana is the energy behind those occurrences that humans/humanoid aliens deem Magic.  

Mana is omnipresent though not evenly distributed and with proper training or native skill can be manipulated to produce certain desired effects.  With the current level of B.A.D.G.E. technology, we can also detect this force at a distance.

The third form of energy which concerns us in this instance is Morphons, or more properly,  Morphon Particles.

The Morphon Particle, or MP, is a byproduct of tachyonic decay.  When a Tachyon, a particle known to travel only at speeds exceeding photons (Light) slow below the light-speed threshold, they decay into particles that can exist at those speeds. These include the Electron, the Positron, the Higgs Boson, and the Morphon.

Since the effects of the other break-down particles are known, we need only consider the Morphon for our purposes.

Currently, only about 10% of the human population possesses the correct genetic makeup to concentrate and metabolize the Morphon particle into usable energy of various types.  With the current level of B.A.D.G.E. technology, we can detect this force at a distance.

It is conjectured that the recent environmental influx of MPs has been caused by leakage from hyperspatial propulsion systems in use within near proximity to the Sol system.  Firstly, by the alien force known as the Legion, and then by the development of our own version of the hyperspatial drive, it seems unlikely that the MP influx will decrease in the near future.

There is also conjecture based on the ability exhibited by a portion of the population to process and metabolize MPs that in the past, our planet may have been subjected to multiple visits by one or more alien societies utilizing hyperspatial propulsion systems during our period of evolution.  This would seem likely in light of certain evidence of evolutionary acceleration during certain phases in the geo-biological specimens which have been evaluated recently.

Only by further study of these specimens can we expect to confirm, negate, or further refine these theories.

Turning now to the issue of how Morphons are processed into usable, directable energy.

It is possible with current technological innovations for devices to process Morphon energy directly into usable energy, thus the availability of Morphon-powered devices we currently have or are now developing.  This accounts for the main part of the technological powerset.

A portion of the population with the correct genetic makeup is also able to concentrate, metabolize, and direct Morphon energy directly.

The Elemental powerset, it is theorized, seems to form the basis of the remaining powersets, as the Morphons are processed into other energy forms to produce the observed effects. Elementals process the Morphons into energy which can be used directly in various forms or used to reorganize materials to form objects.

In the Physical powerset, the energy is processed to reorganize the body's own tissues, or to produce fields that reinforce or energize enhancement of the physical body.

In the Mental powerset, the energy is directly processed to enhance mental acuity.

In the Magic powerset, the energy is changed into Mana, which the practitioner then uses to produce the effects in the manner in which they have been trained.

Supernatural beings also process  Mana, in general, in a manner similar to the Physical powerset, in that it allows such beings to produce the effects directly via their own bodies.

Of course, most beings capable of utilizing Morphon energies seem to partake of more than a single powersets aspects.
